Job Purpose
As a Business Travel Manager, you will be overseeing and be responsible for the whole of the Business Travel department, including account management, staff training and performance management, and have good financial acumen and strong technology skills.
The key responsibilities within this role will include:
· Strong understanding of travel operations, suppliers, and systems.
· Carry out travel reservations on behalf of clients
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Excellent administrative and time management skills
· Excellent communication ability including written and oral presentation skills
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
· Strong PC knowledge including related PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Email skills
· Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to influence both internally and externally
· Ensure quality control is maintained at all times by the department
· Conduct staff meetings, appraisals and interviews, and maintain continuous staff development to meet IIP standards
· The ability to multitask and prioritise workflow
· Perform well under pressure and meet required deadlines
· Suggest, implement and maximize all avenues of earnings for the company to increase profitability
· Demonstrate “switchselling” to suppliers which provide the highest commission levels
· Strong project management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
· Operate at a strategic level
· Conduct and maintain supplier negotiations to benefit clients and the company alike
· Client liaison and resolution of complaints, travel policy changes, SLA’s and to ensure clients expectations are excelled at all times
· Research, implement and train staff in all areas of technology
· Promote and market the company at all given opportunities to maximise potential new business and brand awareness
· Be aware of changes within the travel industry, attend meetings and conferences and be the main contact for clients and suppliers
· Sabre GDS knowledge highly desired.
Due to location the role would ideally suit a car owner/driver.
Supervisory experience preferred, however, an experienced BT Consultant looking for a step up would be considered.
