Job Purpose
My client is a global manufacturer and they are looking for a Supply Chain Manager ideally with engineering or manufacturing experience. The Supply Chain Manager will form an integral part in the achievement of Operational objectives. With a strong, solid background in supply chain management, the role will take a proactive approach in implementing divisional strategy whilst ensuring that local operational objectives and targets are met. This will include reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes. The role is key to leading my client forward in securing quality supplies of materials and components covering price, delivery and quality targets, ensuring optimal planning to meet OTIF and inventory targets and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment.

This is a very varied purchasing role that will also cover the setting up and raising of demand on and supply to all intercompany business units through the Distribution Order system.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the procurement of raw materials, finished parts for production and services
- Successful running of Autostore with the aim of optimizing use and minimizing labour, whilst maintaining the ability to flex up and down according to demand
- Ensure OTIF performance in Purchasing and Stores operations.
- Daily reporting of OTIF performance & stock availability
- Minimisation of customer complaints due to errors in pick, pack & despatch
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company’s needs and ensure compliance with the company’s current and future quality requirements via annual audits
- Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates
- Work with freight forwarders and transportation companies to set best route and rate (review and approve freight terms)
- Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend, without the loss of quality or service
- Measure Supplier Performance through agreed upon KPI’s
- Maintain supply of product through the intercompany Distribution system
- Review & update of the business stock model on a monthly basis
- Administrate supplying pricelists, and justification of costs within the companies costing system
- Initiate and manage supplier agreements for strategic suppliers.
- Liaise with key stakeholders within the company including operations, technical, internal & external sales
- Manage off site storage and where possible minimize use.
