The Opportunity

Halmer Group is recruiting a Warehouse Operative in Guildford, Surrey, for a temporary assignment running from Monday 5 October to Tuesday 22 December 2026.

You will support day-to-day warehouse operations, completing picking and packing, preparing goods for dispatch, shrink wrapping, pallet work, and loading and unloading.

The position pays £12.71 per hour plus £1.53 per hour holiday pay, giving a total hourly rate of £14.24.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00am–5:00pm. Training will be provided to help you become familiar with the duties and working procedures.

This opportunity would suit someone reliable and punctual who enjoys practical work, pays close attention to detail and can commit to the full temporary assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
• Check products and quantities before packing.
• Prepare goods for dispatch.
• Shrink wrap goods and completed pallets.
• Carry out general pallet work.
• Load and unload goods.
• Support colleagues with general warehouse duties.
• Keep the working area clean and organised.
• Follow instructions and safe working procedures.

Requirements

Essential

• Availability to start on Monday 5 October 2026.
• Availability for the full assignment through to Tuesday 22 December 2026.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
• Safety boots suitable for warehouse work.
• Comfort undertaking practical warehouse duties, including loading and unloading.
• Good attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
• Reliable and punctual working style.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Previous warehouse experience is not stated as essential. Full training will be provided for the required duties.
