The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement based in High Wycombe. This is a full-time permanent senior leadership role working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

The salary for this position is £75,000 – £80,000 plus annual performance bonus and excellent benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven and strategically minded procurement professional to take full ownership of a company-wide procurement function within a leading organisation. The successful candidate will lead procurement transformation initiatives, shape supplier strategy, deliver measurable cost savings and drive operational efficiencies across the business.

The role also includes oversight of warehouse logistics across multiple UK sites, with occasional travel to northern locations approximately twice per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a three-year procurement strategy aligned with business growth objectives
• Lead procurement transformation and strategic sourcing initiatives
• Drive supplier negotiations and category management activities
• Deliver measurable cost efficiencies and long-term value creation
• Design and track procurement KPIs and performance metrics
• Strengthen supplier partnerships while optimising the vendor base
• Collaborate with Operations to improve stock management, logistics and distribution
• Introduce systems and tools to improve procurement transparency and reporting
• Provide strategic recommendations and business cases to senior leadership
• Oversee procurement compliance, operational efficiency and supplier performance

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience leading procurement strategy within a fast-paced or regulated industry
• Strong commercial acumen and experience delivering significant cost savings
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership ability
• Data-driven and analytical mindset
• Experience using procurement software, systems and reporting tools
• Degree qualified in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline

Desirable Requirements

• MCIPS or CIPS qualification preferred
• Experience within healthcare, manufacturing or distribution sectors advantageous
